PyFAIR Simulation

Quantify Risk

Use PyFAIR Monte Carlo simulation to generate quantitative risk metrics

Risk Parameters

Loss Event Frequency (LEF)

Probability of loss event occurring per year (values between 0 and 1)

Loss Magnitude (LM)

Monetary impact per loss event in euros (€)

How It Works

PyFAIR (Factor Analysis of Information Risk) uses Monte Carlo simulation to generate risk metrics from probability distributions.

Loss Event Frequency (LEF)

The probability that a loss event will occur within a year. Enter values between 0 and 1 (e.g., 0.3 = 30% chance per year).

Loss Magnitude (LM)

The monetary impact if a loss event occurs. Enter amounts in euros (€).

Distribution Parameters

  • Minimum: The best-case scenario (lowest possible value)
  • Most Likely: The expected or average case
  • Maximum: The worst-case scenario (highest possible value)

Tip: Start with conservative estimates. You can always re-run the simulation with different parameters to explore various scenarios.
